A Certificate freak …..

Yeah that’s what people around me are calling me now a days.

During the past 2 year’s of my professional life while I have been working on my Corporate Engagements I have also been working on enhancing my knowledge base through various kinds of certifications.

It all started when I joined my business process in my Organization there was a team member who was moving out of my team due to some role changes (citing Personal reasons). When this person wanted to move out of the organization there was very little that he could show on paper to make a better Job.

Though the person had been a professional, there was always something which he was lacking due to which he was not making a Lucrative offer. It struck me then that apart from your real time experience you also need to have Cerified Skills that add value to your CV when you transition to a new role/Org.

So my concentration on certified trainings started from then. There were days when I used to stay back late in my office to surf and find out any Certificate courses available to me in my Domain.

And today iam doing well in my career , apart from real time learning iam also able to apply my certification courses gist into my everday business activities.

What hurts me the most is that people underestimate the power of certifications as a waste and are worthless .

Recently very old buddy of mine also commented that iam a Certificate Freak. It made me think am I Overtly obsessed with my knowledge enhancement /Career building Stake.

That left me Still pondering over the Answers ……

Life is a Challenge.....

Life is full of challenges whoever said this, was true.

Imagine a Life which is as bland as lifeless, what happiness does it bestow upon you. At the end of the day when you are about to sleep when you try to recap your accomplishments what memories do you have to cherish when your life is bland.

Whenever I feel my life is becoming Monotonous I try to figure out some challenging tasks to question myself if I have reached my threshold.

One Quote I believe in the most is “If you think you have made the last changes, that’s your Potential”That’s the maximum extent to which you can Stretch and you are limiting your Potential to there.

Now why the hell am I giving all this Gyan is for the past couple of day’s I was feeling like I was involved in a very routine /Mechanical job which required less or no creativity or action from my end . I have been wondering what would be the challenge I would like to take up.

And here comes the golden Opportunity. My Organization is a Globally reputed Org which is CMMi Level 5 Certified Org.(it’s a standard which certifies that your company is able to perform projects worth billion of dollars because they are very mature in this business). A Tough Qualification to be attained. And there are only a handful of companies in India who qualify this standard.

Now the time has come for my organization to renew and showcase their new Strengths. And Guess who is doing the Evaluation of my org performance. Its KPMG!!!!!!!
(KPMG is a Big Four auditor, alongside PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu).

My Challenge begins here. It came as a Surprise to me that my business process that I work upon has been chosen as one of the active areas to be showcased to KPMG to evaluate our Organization performance.

So I am required to showcase my business performance, Achievements, process, methodology developed.

To Sum it up….iam currently working on an assignment to showcase my business to strengthen my Organization’s criteria to make it to the top certified Companies across the globe. Also iam working on a report that would be evaluated by none other than KPMG to evaluate my Organization performance.
What else could be a challenge to an employee , than showcasing his employer’s strength to external world to be certified as a Customer Reliable Organization.

Step in to ur fellow shoes….

Imaging that you are having coffee with your Friend/colleague who is wearing a Brand New Shirt regarding which he had been telling to every one since morning.

Suddenly there comes a stranger and compliments you for your shirt saying that the Design/Texture/Color of your Shirt is awesome.

How does your friend feel about it. Have you ever been into such situation and if so if you had observed the reaction on your friend’s face.

I am referring to it because I was in the same situation as described above. Its all a matter of perception.:-)

Just for a change I was thinking how would I react in such a Situation had I been the Victim.

Just a few smileys shall do it…..

wEeKeNd MaStI....

It was raining heavily outside and being a Saturday Evening we didn’t dare to go out of my home since my mom was serious that we should not leave home as Hyderabad is on High Alert sensing some terrorist attack in the wake of recent bombings at Blore.

So over our evening cup of tea at my place I along with my frenz… Shali, lucky and raj decided that instead of heading out for Dinner (which was our weekend Routine) we planned that we shall show off each other the Cooking that we know ( as v know that each one of us is pretty bad at it ). There was no Big Debate on wat to be cooked as we all agreed onto CHICKEN .

And since my mom was there at my place and fearing tat we wud spoil the entire Kitchen we decided to spoil lucky’s kitchen (just beside my home is his flat) as it was vacant.

The theme was decided the menu fixed and curtains were raised for our Grand –Opulent Cooking Event. The Role’s were finalized and each one of us headed with wat were the best at. I started of with Spices, Ammunation (cutlery). Shali took the Onus of procuring chicken (God knows how the poor fellow was drenched in rain to go out to get it). Lucky started off with Setting the Dining Table and occasionally helping us with his inputs. It was me and Raj who were fighting as to how much of salt, pepper to be added and how many onions do we need to chop….etc

After a series of struggle’s finally we completed the Mission after 3 hrs.

As we were about to enjoy the hardwork that we have put in, everything suddenly went Black. The Power Shutdown &^@%$#@$&&$.

Hmmm we cursed the Power fellow, Rain, Banglore blasts and we even extended our warm curses to Power Minister, our Cable fellow and who not every one tat v cud think of from morning till evening of Saturday.

Finally we had to contain ourselves with adjusting to an Emergency Lamp dinner.

And we met the next day over our Sunday cup of tea everything appeared so funny tat v cud not stop making fun at us for the frivolous events tat happened by chance on Saturday making us believe everything in Life shud not be taken so serious when it is not particular as every event leaves u a sweet reminder of the fun element.

Now this is why I say MUMMy’s should not be taken to China…

The Hue and cry being raised about the new release of the week, ”Mummy 3 – the Emperor rises back” is something which I feel isn’t worthy enough for the movie itself.

Given the fact that iam a Die hard fan of Mummy 1 & 2,which unearthed the Curiosity to know more about Egypt/Pharohs/ Gold Hunts, that I went to the extent of Wikipediaing the subject. And would definitely like to give it a watch again on HBO or Start Movies.

All set and done I along with my collegues planned to watch out the new version in the series and even went to the extent of Bunking Office (from Friday afternoon as we were quite sure that from Friday First show we may not make up the tickets). Although we missed the first 5 minutes of movie which I guess more of context setting in china about the emperor and his army the sight of Brenden Fraser brought in the happiness and my adrenaline started to pump up with a curiosity about the adventure to be set up.

But unlike the earlier versions the First Disappointment came, in the form of new new heroine (for Mr. Fraser).Little did I realize that the movie was being diverted from the main track as the characters in the movie to started to slowly move from west to east viz.,china (instead of Egypt or any other African place).

When we realized that Alex the Cute son in Mummy 2 has grown up and is going to fight now against mummy, I feared that this is similar on the lines of Indian jones 4 the latest in the closet. Bollywood/Indian Films are truly inspiring Hollywood. Where in the family fight is being passed on generations to rescue Good averting the Baddies.

Hopefully coming summer Spider Man and Bat man don’t urn up the trend of Indian Jones and Mummy.

And thirdly why in the bloody hell would any body want to bring the concept of Mummy to China where in every kid in the block is fanatic about Marshall arts. I totally went aghast when I saw that Mummy was performing Marshall Arts.

I don’t say that the movie is completely bad but only venting out my disappointment over my Expectations on Mummy. There are a Couple of Gud scenes and the Audio recording was were very gud, infact my collegue who sat beside me started to jerk as she saw the emperor raising back.
