World K****** Day @^*#&^@!

Guess whats today???? Yes September 24th !!!!

Still not getting……

I was also under the impression that today is also a regular day sparring few Birthdays. When I saw the Newspaper early today morning was shocked to know that its World Kissing Day.

Yes you heard it right today is World Kissing Day.

Now don’t ask me who founded it and where.I had No clue as to how am I supposed to react.

Just like a Friendship Day/Independence Day should I go and wish people Happy Kissing Day (Iam sure I wud b thrown out of office if I dare to do tat).

I was not even sure whether it was correct , but I can’t question the authenticity of a report that’s published in The Hindu.

So with a doubt in my mind I went to office and was completely lost in my work as I had an urgent Client meeting wherein I had to explain to do some consulting exercise.

By End of Day I completely forgot the fact that I learnt in the morning.

Its not only me but all the committed (status) people in my office also didn’t know that there is a day called Kissing Day.

Oops iam not sure if Vishwa Hindu Parishad or BJP knew this, or else there wud have been an attack on the News paper and then on Parks . A regular jog that these guys do whenever such article comes into limelight.

Crisis Crisis Crisis…..

Even though my week started off peacefully, the week wasn’t the same for everyone.

Fallout of Lehman Brothers financial institution, take over of Meryllynch by Bank of America, a narrow escape for AIG from bankruptcy.

I started to follow news closely hoping to gain some key insights into what does this mean to me. When I say “mean to me”, I do not know how does this affect me? Being an Aspiring MBAiian added to the complexity to the problem making me stumble across every Jargon and finding its root.

Trying to get my hands on every piece of literature available starting with all news editions, Googling, Wikipediaing.

Yeah the Meryll-BOA Episode had some repercussions to my Organisation as, currently 2% of our revenues are from Meryllynch.

All in all its not only me, or my Organisation thinking about the turmoil, the complete Banking, Financial Sector enabled IT services companies are giving it a second thought.

I Spoke to a friend of mine who works for this going to be estranged Customer for my company (ie., Meryllynch). He sounded very disheartened. He was not sure what would be his future and that has left him in a mirage of illusions.

Hope these would be the last major changes in this week….

Crucial Decision….

All of us might have made some tough decisions of which some of them would have clicked well and some would have made us learn a Lesson.

Its now officially 2 years that I have been into the IT Industry. A Decision that I have taken 2 years back to join a team of 100+ Business Analysts rather be a member of the Bandwagon of 50000+ Software Development Engineers.

Though Some of my friends chose that path, given my interests and necessity I had to make a choice between a wells settled path (S/W Engg) or try out a new one about which I was Ignorant.

But only one strong driving force that kept me in this line was “ down the line I WILL do my MBA and this shall help me rather than my techie stuff.”

I still remember the day I and my friend hasham were offered this role in as a BA, I was calling to all the available contacts in my mobile’s contact list to enquire if I can understand what does a BA mean.

Starting as a White Page I had the opportunity to emboss every thing I do and co-relate that to my future 2 years down the line. Also the I was able to put in my Hard work because the decision was my choice.

And today when I proved myself as a key resource in my team , my friends keep on asking me one Question. Do u have any requirements in your team?

It gives me immense pride to say that I chose path to my destiny rather than giving up to what people forced up on me. It reminds me of my friend Sra1’s communicator note “Try to do things u want to do, or lese you shall be forced to take what others want u to do…”

Spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi!!!

Amongst the Teen maar beats, today our lane's diety Mr.Ganeshji was given a given a heavy heart farewell with pooja’s being performed from evening 5 pm.

The other spectrum consisted of people getting ready with their Energy Drinks to bid farewell to lord ganeshji. In the name of lord, people showoff their piousness with varying frequencies, some like it by performing pooja’s, some by making public offerings and some by raising a toast of their favorite hot beverage.

Truly it happens only in India.

Now after their favorite’s acts of performances the citizens of our lane spanning from the youngest Chanti to eldest Mr. Rao Uncle every one was in a jubilant mood trying hard to forget that they have to get back to normal life of schools, Offices. , etc since tomorrow being Monday.

As every time the fever of 6 pack abs has even bitten Hyderabadi Ganesha. My Friend Lucky was showing me a snap of an 8 pack abs ganeshji who was there at a pandal in Charminar. Now that’s a dichotomy to the fact that Ganeshji was supposed to be the god with a belly (mom recites the mantra “oh Bojja Ganappayya nee bantu nennayya”).

Every Ganesh chaturti has its own specialty in Hyderabad and this time the speciality chose to be in the form of Hindu Muslim Brotherhood.

Accidentally or coincidently however you may like to term it this time Ganesh Chaturthi came in the holy month of ramzaan. At a ganesh pandal in hyd Muslim’s were given a special iftaar(where in they would be offered Fruits and snacks since muslim’s would be on fast called roza since morning). And similarly Muslim brother’s expressed their gratitude in response by offering Prasad to Lord Ganesh.

A true festival helping to bridge the gas in between people of different religions.

Ganapathi Bappa moriyaaaaaaaa…

A Wednesday like Saturday…..

Today we had been to the movie called “A Wednesday” a film directed by Debutant Director Neeraj Pandey.

A very good movie showcasing what a Stupid Common Man/Aam Admi can do if he wishes to kill Terrorism . A Honest effort by the director to show the trauma being faced my aam aadmi in today’s world of terrorist attacks.

All I can say is the movie is an Intellectual movie. It requires Brains to understand and appreciate the efforts put in by the movie crew.

But that was not all about today. Being a Saturday our usual gang of friends went out for dinner. And suddenly I get a call from Mom @ Home cautioning me to return home as there have been serial blasts all across the national Capital viz., delhi.

As I heard the news a chill went down my nerve and I just had a 360 degree check around myself to realize that I was not at the spot. It took me hardly 30-45 seconds to get back to the normal position. And I was trying to get back to normal, I saw people around me Cracking Jokes with their loved ones, sharing snacks, smoking high in the air., there was little amount of fear in their eyes. May be they were yet to get the call just like the one I had from home.

As I came back home and started to blog this post, I feel my Saturday was similar to the plot of A Wednesday…….

Trying to grope the situation I was back to normal Congratulating my friend Sushmi on her next US Onsite trip, Wishing Birthday wishes to Amrita my colleague.
After all Life needs to keep on moving...Such instances only make us Stronger day by day...

My Bengulooooooru Visit…

Last two days I had been to Bangalore on a Business Visit. The Day started hurriedly as I was getting myself adjusted to the Hotel Environment. I reached blore at 7.30 Am.

As I had not booked my cab for that day I had to join my Collegue who was already ready in her cab to go to the office. So I asked her to start off and I shall join her later.Little did I realize that this act of mine was going to cost me 230 rupees. Yes I had to shell out 230 bucks to reach my office in Auto. Now I realized why my friends say that cost of living in blore is high.hufffffff…

And added to my trouble the auto fellow that I hired knew only the way till Electronic city entrance and he had never been inside that area. I had very little knowledge of that area as last time I was accompanied my friend Ravinder and that tooo 6-8 months back. So all that I remember that my office was opposite Infosys Blore campus. So started my hunt as to find a glimpse of Infy.

After a struggle of 110 minutes I reached my office.

God how do people commute daily in such a heavy Traffic city!!!!!!

I just could not bear that for 2 days and wonder how people take it for granted every day.

But you know the best part of blore is that the citizens of blore are well mannered. Surprisingly every one follows traffic rules. Even if it takes more time , they are patient enuf to handle that…(Surprisingly in hyd I see ppl are in a Hurry and tend to break the junctions…)

Another interesting point abt blore is that given that the weather is always pleasant (atleast whenever I was on road I felt that way). I didn’t even see atleast one Ganesh Idol on the streets. Having habituated to see atleast 1 idol per street I was amazed to find they have no Idols on street. (May be having them wud have caused more congestion in terms of traffic)

Not all words of praise to bengaloooru….On the day of return back I accompanied my colleague to Burma Bazar a well known street for shopping and I was tempted to buy 2 dvds(50 bucks each)…21 & 88 Minutes of Al Pacino…..and when I checked the discs back at home…88 minutes DVD was Empty!!!!!!

So I bought an empty DVD for 50 bucks…&^@$$^^!@$(Keeeeeeeeeek…Censored )….

But anyways Hyderabad Rocks….Biryaani,Haleem, our small traffic jams, Ganesh Immersion at tank bund.,etc makes a Hyderabadi life rock….

Mahesh Mania @ aShTa - ChEmMa

I don’t know why but after a long time today I feel like to blog every dump….

So here it goes my another review…..

Last week’s another release was critically acclaimed Award winning director Indraganti Mohan Krishna’s (MK) “Ashta-Chemma”.

Though this movie is MK’s 3rd Telugu movie I would like to term it as his perfect commercial movie. His first film Grahanam was about Social Elements. (Now all award winning movies will have similar kind of story lines or else they wud not be chosen for awards….hahaha).

His Second Movie was “Mayabazar” though the title is borrowed from famous telugu classic movie starring NTR, ANR, Savitri this movie with bhumika, raja and SPB has little resemblance to the old classic. This is a Socio fantasy movie set in 2000.I watched this movie at home in Gemini TV.

Though the earlier two movies reflect the Director’s Classic taste this movie Ashta-Chemma puts him in limelight.

To put it frankly I was expecting a Good movie right from the day the shooting was announced from MK’s kitty. And this movie lives up to my xpectations.

The movie heavily banks upon Mahesh mania…yes the plot is based on how girls are crazy about Prince Mahesh Babu.(Guys at least u can have gud time at the theatre as Mahesh’s female fan’s also look cute just like Mahesh…JJ)

The best part of the movie is Anand…yes the character played by Srini the new comedy face of tollywood. This guy has amazing timing and the comedy that he delivers is perfect. Especially the scene where Mahesh a-k-a Ram Babu explains his village backdrop which forms a Hilarious episode.

Coming to Swathi (or rather popular as Colors swathi), she does a good job like the girl who keeps on dreaming about Mahesh Babu.Though her character in the movie looks like an extended one of her character in the movie Venky’s Aaduvari matalaku ardhalu veru

The taking and screenplay grips your attention. Music stands out with some foot-tapping numbers.

Except for the last 15 minutes of the movie you never feel bored in the movie. The movie is on the lines of Anand, Happydays …I mean to the taste of Multiplexer and family audience. That’s the Trade secret why Shekhar Kammula has bought the Overseas Distribution rights of this movie.

The movie shall be a definitely Paisa vasool movie.

homam -- THE DEPARTED

Last week’s new release Homam a telugu movie by JD Chekravarthy (the obedient disciple of RGV) is a blatantly copied version of Martin Scorsese’s Oscar Nominee “The Departed” staring Matt Damon and Dicarpio.

Right from the beginning the movie was guzzling with Violence and no doubt the movie is given an A certificate by the censor board. After Pokiri almost all the Telugu movies started to show violence in a different tone.

Set against a police-Mafia Backdrop where in the Police introduce their under cover cop into mafia and vice versa, the movie takes through the journey of interconnection between 2 departments.

All said and done, Homam is a well directed movie. JD needs to be specially mentioned because before going to the movie I heard the Protagonist of the movie telling that the movie is for “Intellectual People” and that perfectly describes the essence of the movie.

The Movie moves at a very fast pace never leaving u regret for the amount u spent on ur ticket.(Except for the songs , Though the songs have been composed and picturised differently their timing in the movie only interrupts the flow of the movie.)

Jagapathi Babu also proved his mettle as an Actor with yet another good performance. Especially the scene where in the cop explains to his mom in hospital that he is an Undercover cop(though I heard people comparing this scene with Kamal Hassan;’s performance in Vasanta kokila…I didn’t feel it can be matched up by any other performance).

The Heroines in the movie are there only for Masala Entertainment to the Masses. The Screenplay and Editing is good. The Climax part is very well carved up on.

A good film to watch especially if you haven’t watched the departed, do watch it after the original version and u shall understand the creativity of the director.

All in the entire movie introduces freshness into Telugu film industry with lot more experimentations budding up. The Icing on the cake is…there is a Sequel being planned for this movie with - bringing Dawood ibrahim to India from Pakistan as the backdrop. The sequel is being planned as MARANA HOMAM.

Another feather

Now as I keep on expressing my disgruntles regarding my old buddy remarking my certificate fever, I received my new certificate from Indian Law Institute for the completion of my Intellectual Property law Course.

Even though I didn’t want to highlight this new one (given the fact u read my earlier post),but some how deep in my heart I don’t know wat pushed me to do it…I finally brought the framed certificate to my workplace and posed it near my monitor.

And the regular Hushes and blushes floated around. Everyone going out for their coffee’s were coming and enquiring me abt my new Possession. Felt great and was on cloud 9 (though iam not sure wat they said after going to their desks)

As I write this blog, amidst conference calls being answered from desk phones (People talk abt Work ethics and surprisingly tats only talk no action) feel lonely and left out as the ne pile of work looks at me eagerly……
