Curtains down.....

And here is how it feels when u send out ur last mail (ofcourse from ur releiving company's mail box)

*******************
Dear Team,

At last the day has arrived for me to bid adieu to ABC.

Though my tryst with ABC has been brief, the amount of learning that I had during this learning mode of my career has been enthralling.

I have enjoyed my tenure here and appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you. More so as the road traveled wasn't level and straight, but I surely enjoyed the roller coaster ride and it was fun-filled and enriching.

I thank each one of you who stood by me throughout my journey at XYZ .

You can follow me on http://realitymatters-vamsi.blogspot.com/

I wish you all the very best in all your Future endeavors.

Do svidaniya

Cheers…

day before D day

And so here is my day before D day.

Am I happy ?? Am I sad?? Not sure though.

Its that kind of emotion that when you are well dressed up and suddenly there is a heavy downpour outside. You want to move out and drench yourself completely but since you have to go and meet a very important person (may be a HR:-)) you do not dare to step out and curse yourself for being a silent spectator.

Wowwww..wat an anomaly krishi…u rock!!! (cant help out ..edisi moham kadukunattu undi ani naaku ardam aindi)

Anyways everyone of us have to make some tough decisions…to estrange ur old buddies in and go out to search new fellows.

If ever Karan thapar (I wud love to be interviewed by Sherin Bahn :-)) wants to interview me tonite on CNBC tv 18 as to wat do I feel at this point of time, I wud say “I guess that’s wat is life all about…when u think that u have made ur self comfortable at a place …it (lyf) throws a new challenge asking you to face this…”

I know I know my dear reader…Looks like iam quite overwhelmed abt all dis happening to me (infact this is not the first time )

All in all to cut the crap…today is my last working day at my office (officially my relieving date is tomorrow but since tomorrow I wud b busy with my relieving formalities). Got my things packed up….my notes…my personal mails backup…my stupendously envied Coffee Mug …getting ready to move out….

Zindagi ek safar hai suhaaanaaa…yeha kab kya hoga kisney jaaana…….

After all are v r still bonded....

Though I tght I shall post this blog after 3days…couldn’t resist myself from doing so.

Today we (Yes..it’s WE…my colleagues at Appy and me) had been to lunch. After repeatedly pestering them to come out for lunch since the time I planned to move out, I managed to move them from their seats.

Now let me introduce my colleagues (akka.. cubbies..cubicle frenz).

H…She was the first person who invited me to join for lunch at cafeteria (For almost 1 week I was having lunch all by myself..all alone in the cafeteria..It is such a weird feeling when u move from a team who gave company for lunch to one man show kind of lunch). She is ok kind of girl (Pretty ani raastey feel ekkuva avtundi ani raayatam ledu…anyways the gud news is she is pretty and the sad one is she is COMMITED) …And believe me I don’t feign to show off as a BA till date……I wud pray for god for ur happy days to kick start soon (and sad days for N :-))

M..He is the guy with whom I share a great rapport. We both join together when it comes to pull someone’s leg (at times satirically and at times sincerely). He has got great sense of humor and the timing with which he delivers Punches is hilarious. Quite a Witty person, Hardworking (Logs IN exactly at 9.30AM and out after 7PM..i nvr dared to beat him in his schedule). I adore him for the way he mingles with people….I still have no clue when Nokia is gonna launch ur much awaited Dual sim phone in india

R…Though I met him late, we always hang around for coffee and lunch breaks. A Body building champion with amazing cuts (I mean it guyz…) always curious to know everything. Though his role demands him to be a supervisor, he manages to balance the thin line to be friendly with his team and at the same time gets things done by them….Shall have a treat from you once ur Maruthi Suzuki Swift desire turns up….

MN…and here comes my neighbor (sits beside me). A Calm guy….A patient listener (since he bears my garrulous talk…Yes whenever I feel sleepy I turn to MN and start a chat..i talk all crap abt everything and anything tht strikes me). A silent supporter for me. I still remember he saying to H that whatever she says he would always support me anytime…(MN u made me feel proud for my crap talk :-))…Some day u shall take ur revenge at the very person who troubles u for count….

And there is B …who was always there in our talks ..but now moved to UK…Good and transparent guy who says what he feels upfront. Though v didn’t have much time to spend, he stays in touch vth any latest updates at Appy (He is our Breaking News host)

So this was my team at Appy. Though officially they were from Testing team and I was from Biz Analyst team, they nvr allowed me to feel that iam an outsider to their techie talks…

Guyz I miss the fun here…I miss the pantry coffees(yeah I agree the coffee is cold )…I miss our P3 Serpentine queue’s for lunch..and I Miss our post lunch inspection walks (M & R…though v nvr managed to view the fashion show at the entrance …I still feel sad for it…)..I miss the Red Bull (Gals)…I miss our outer periphery gupshups…I miss our Mr. Bucket stories…

…hey forgot abt Sandy…hey H say hi to sandy …M shud attack it daily with his witty one liners……and I still didn’t get that Siebel notes that u promised…:-(

I really thank u all for making me feel to come to office everyday (and H - I broke ur record for 2 continous weeks…wat say M??) and most importantly make me skeptical if iam gonna get such group again at my new place :-(

This reminds me of my childhood days lessons from Lego blocks game….I build a huge building painfully placing all the blocks and suddenly my sister would break it…and I had to start all over again to put the structure….Now that my team here is scattered I have to build another one…that’s what is life all about

All the Very Best for ur future and hope to bump in to you some day (I still hang around in hitech-city)….now it seems like I am gonna make u all cry with such long post…no Emotional Atyachaars plssssssss….

Finally one word to end dis…Hakunamatataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

P.S: though I know that u guyz don’t blog…do keep on visiting my blog to know wats happning vth me (at least sign in as my followers..my followers count wud increase:-)

4 days to go....

Well well well…looks like my team here is feeling sad to lose an esteemed team member (Ok I know I am not that esteem as I have bragged).

Today after putting down my papers (eagerly waiting for my relieving date which is 4 days from now), I was involved in my regular chore of activities (forwading mails, googling and reading blogs). Saurab my team mate pinged me on gtalk (recently our places have been changed and I & saurab sit opposite to each other with a partition )

“is it 4 more days left for freedom ?”

Guessing that he was feeling sad for my departure, tght of boosting up his morale and said few adrenaline pumping quotes to him (to bring back the cheer on his face)

It reminded me of a typical forwarded email that I stumbled upon sometime back , 2 fellows sit infront of each other ,I mean 2 opposite workstations and ask if the other person has received the mail that this fellow has sent.

As I and Saurab were sharing this lighter moment, my another team mate Ashu pounced onto my partition (actually he read my chat messages on saurab’s machine) asking me …

“What is the common thing that a Software Engineer and a Beggar have in common?”

As I kept on thinking to remember if that was a one liner from any forwarded mail he answered his questions saying …

“ Both of them ask which Platform are you working on ”

While the other 2 team members were busy with daily rituals we 3 shared a lighter note ….hmm gonna miss this in 4 days 

Trip to Srisailam

After a long tussle with my frenz, I managed to win over them and convinced them for a long drive to srisailam last weekend.

Since there were many trips that we planned exhaustively but none of them fruitified in the past, so we kept the planning away from hype.

I and Lucky finalized the itinerary and confirmed with Shali and prashant on the day before of the journey.

SO on Saturday morning at 5 AM we started from Kukatpally, picked Prashant at Santosh nagar and headed towards srisailam highway via chandrayan gutta.

By 6 AM we moved out of the city, had a chance to view Sunrise amidst no concrete interventions. We had a Garam Chai at a village on the way and headed out on our way.

From a longtime we wanted to go on for a trek , incidentally last week we planned to join GHAC group for their Moulali Trek but due to our laziness didn’t wake on time and so missed the Rappelling fun. As we crossed a village called Amangal, a thought struck to us that we shall try trekking, So loaded with vengeance, we stopped our vehicle near a Hillock and climbed the hill.

As this was our first trek (that too with no safety mechanisms), we managed to climb uphill in 30 mins and descended in 35 minutes. Though the initial terrain was normal, as we steeped ahead the ascending angled increased which made our descend thrilling. At one point of time we were on our hands grappling to descend without skidding.

At 8.30AM Successfully after 75 minutes we completed the trek and scored a 1 in our trekking account.

From there we headed to a Small Dhaba for Breakfast. As I read in some blogs about the kind of food that we can expect on the way to srisailam I suggested everyone to have an extra plate of dosa to be on safe side.

After Breakfast we took the straight road to Srisailam. Our first stop was at UmaMaheswaram, a temple on hillock. Before driving on the real Ghat road of srisailam , this road provided a sample track of how to drive on the ghat road.

From here we headed to MallelaTheertham, a picturesque location with Waterfalls. It comes 56 Km's before srisailam. From where we need to take a left and drive 8 Km's on a kacha road.(the max speed that u can drive on this road is30Kms..so imagine the kind of road)

The waterfalls were great. We had a shower. There was a corporate gang who were cooking food (with drinks) and were having a blast.

After the shower we headed directly to Srisailam as all of us were exhausted. On the way we stopped at couple of view points and clicked some snaps. The real surprise was yet to come.

Once we reached srisailam we were shocked to see the crowd. Little did we realize/ knew that Karnataka and Maharashtra ppl come to Srisailam for Ugadi.

By seeing the crowd we were awestruck. It took 2 hrs for us to manage Hotel Room due to heavy rush.

After refreshing ourselves we tght we shall complete the darshan on Saturday itself. We stood in the special darshan Queue at 8PM and reached the ticket counter at 11.30PM. The temple was so crowded that it took 5 hours for us for the darshan.

We came out of temple at 1.30AM on Sunday and all 4 of us were completely out. we had chapattis which were so hard to eat that we could chew only 1 and had to leave the other one.

In the queue for 5 hours many pictures flashed through my mind. 2 Years back, on shali's bday (which incidentally was on mahasivaratri) we went to a restaurant and had chicken biryani knowing the fact that it was Sivaraatri. So I tght Lord siva wanted us to pay for our arrogance by making us stand in the Queue for 5 hrs.

The next day we woke up at 9AM, refreshed and moved out of srisailam (My car gave a little trouble but thankfully that was resolved in 2 hrs.)

On the way back again we halted at many places , we drove my car into srisailam dam water and had some fun time.

On the way back at Amangal, Prashant suggested to get some pure Palm Wine as he knew someone in that village. After some search we located the person who extracted Kallu in front of us form the tree and I tasted a glass. It was good but I didn’t dare to have one more.

By the time we reached home it was 10PM. The distance totaled to 520 Kms. This was my First long drive wherein I drove almost 400+Kms.

My Mobile life....

I thought I will take a break from my regular posts of venting out on politics, movie reviews., etc So planned to share my experience with mobile phones.

My mobile tryst started off with a Nokia 3315 in my engineering college. Since I cud not afford for a slim looking one, had to suffice myself with this sturdy mobile. Though bulky it helped me throughout my engineering initial days.

Then moved onto Nokia 6030 , a color mobile.

It had an inbuilt FM and Radio mirchi was introduced in Hyd for the first time. So it was great fun to put FM on speaker in my classroom and every one used to enjoy the music while completing their Records (Yes we used to complete our Lab Records in college, we didn’t want to waste time at home:-) )

And as I moved to my first corporate exposure, Mom bought a new Nokia 3230 as a gift. Liked it very much as it had a Music player and a decent camera. Though I never had the funds to increase its memory card from 32MB (a free card that was given along with the mobile).

All through till that time I was a diehard Nokia Fan.

As my sister wanted a mobile ,for she was moving to Delhi, I bought a Sony Ericsson W200i for her. As customary I used the new mobile and she had to adjust herself with the old one (that’s the advantage of being the Elder, u get to use brand new ones and can pass on ur legacy to ur chottu's)

Though I used w200i for a momentary period of time, I was enthralled by its walkman music , amazing one, the Bass and treble that it produces is unmatched.

SO my next choice of mobile was Sony Ericsson W580i, a gift from my sis once she got placed with an MNC with a whopping initial package.

W580i was the mobile that I used for a longer time compared to all my previous mobiles. It made a complete music freak out of me. I used it for close to 2 years. As every mobile starts to wear out after sometime, W580's time also began.

I wanted to move ahead and try an touch phone . Checked with Iphone and its cost made me reconsider my decision. At the same time happened to see a touch phone form Samsung in Reliance Digital. When the sales girl (gud looking one) said it was at 8k, i could not sleep the entire night (no not because of the girl but bcoz of tat 8k touch mobile).

Did exhaustive research on Net and read every single review about the phone, and finally zeroed onto Samsung Corby (only reason why I chose it than a Samsung Star was because Corby had the option to use my Sony ericsson kind of bullet Headset)

At 7.5k Corby was the best deal (everyone goes mute when I say the price of the mobile).

So its Samsung Corby now in hands . Shall post an in detail review of Corby soon.

P.S: The funniest part is I have all my older mobiles with me still. Some of them were not repaired and some could not be repaired 

Stop ...Sound...Horn

I have to blog...i am not sure wat to blog, how to blog but I just wanna blog.

And here it is , I have put down my papers here at my company. Though I haven’t been here for more time, it has been a gud experience to hang around with people from different domains.

As i always claimed in my team, this brief tryst helped me enhance my logical and decision making skills. (hahaha..dis is wat a Tom Hanks says once he returns home from his Castaway island)

On a serious note, I transitioned into a Business Analyst (from visiting card designation to payroll designation)

Learning has never stopped. Coming from a company of 50k headcount and work in a company with barely 2500 odd employees is a daunting task. Daunting because I need to forgo all my luxuries of communicators, landlines (with STD facilities),complete automatised processes & Approvals to complete tasks.

No regrets though. Every company that is today at its peak position would have passed this stage and there would have been many vamsi's like me who were involved in building these companies to what they are today.

And yes I am sure with this experience I had made a cornucopia of my resume with various ingredients like working domains as diverse as software development vis-a-vis independent software testing.

Stop..Sound..Hor...and overtake (vrooooooom)

Lyf is callingggggggg...and I am moving....

A matter of pride....

When the person whom you think is your mentor says that he learnt something from you, the kind of fulfillment that you have inside you is quite unexplainable.

And when someone who is inspired by you gives that credit to you, you truly would be on cloud 9 (no this is not the new energy drink with superb models clinging around it).

Similarly when one of my friends recently started to blog, he accredited that it was ME who inspired him to blog, I was AWESTRUCK. We both used to hang around throughout my graduation days and outbeat each other with our vocab levels (mostly the GRE wordlist).

Coming from a similar background, both of us were average students carrying tones of dreams to do this and that.

In due course of time we both took different career paths and learnt things in a different way. He is always inquisitive, cheerful dynamic, extrovert, amicable and loving person. Whatever were his learning lessons in life he would take care that I would not have to drive through the same failed path but rather help me to come out successfully.
