After a long time I was able to catch up with my Engineering frenz Sra1 & Venky, though three of us are in the same company and we catch up with each other on office communicator - to catch up live and relive those gud old days is quite ecstatic.
Our discussions varied quite a lot, from the recent movie to last birthday amongst us, who else is missing in the troupe.,etc. Sra1 ,Venky & I were the active members of our troupe to harass others who include Raj,Nabee,Anil,Manohar.
Whenever we felt bored, three of us used to pick some topic out of blue and started to fight amongst us. And the topics never had any issue of taboo including jobs, careers, first date,marriages and mostly related to first love, first girl.,etc Obviously the discussion wud b supported in the ratio of 2:1.
Indeed we have grown up from those college days when we all agreed upon to ones’s decision to watch a movie (however bad the movie was) to a stage where we understand that we hardly get time to meet each other and talk , so we cud not afford to risk those 3 hours watching some Super hit movie which we cud have done with the company of some other frenz.
Though we have all colorful credit cards in our pocket today, we preferred to go to a place where we pay by cash (a typical small food outlet). It reminds me of the Engg days when we used to order 2 biryani’s and share it due to paucity of funds (never compromised for movies as we had to do enuff justice to them). Always used to wonder “yaar hum kab jaayengey big restuarents in our own cars”. The day is here , but we no longer enjoy the car ride in comparison to our old triple rides to college.
Some things haven’t changed like in Engg we used to resort to Academic Bulimia during Exams and today we resort to Corporate bulimia to cover up the last minute presentations and client visits.
Certainly things have moved quite a part, we have started to think beyond ourselves, trying to understand and accept each others view points where we used to fight earlier.
We had been there to support each other in every decision that was of importance in our life and stood behind one another to give that feeling of “Main Hoon Na”.
Today we may not be agreeing to each others view point on some issues, but who says that we should be – Twin brothers are not having same opinion so how do u xpect us to have same opinion but Yes we do accept each other as we are and We know each other better as we have been there in our company for the past 6 years (my god even a Govt stands for 5 years, we have been bonded for more than tat period).
And yes Love, Affair and marriage are NO longer Fun topics for us to discuss. Though we ramble upon them and try to pull each other’s leg we certainly know how difficult were the situations that we dealt in those matters.
Today we understand that Every relationship has its own importance. Friendship doesn’t mean u watch the movie Happy Day’s and feel happy about ur engg days , its about staying with them during the times of necessity(as I keep on putting ….Friendship antey Happy Days cinema choosi Chankalu Guddukovatam kaadu ….)
Sra1 and I had my own learnings from life while venky is still novice to this arena. Raj,Anil & Nabee though are distant from us hope they also had their share of learnings.
