Reel to Real….

If I remember correctly the telugu movie “Okke Okkadu” (which was later remade into hindi with Anil kapoor as Nayak) was released in 2000 when I was in my 10th Standard.
The movie was a run away hit given the story line was simple and straight forward.

In the movie when the TV Anchor played by our protagonist turns out to be the Chief Minister of the state taking charge of his Office on Day1,comes up with a Novel idea of setting up a Complaint box in every lane of the state. The Idea is simple any citizen of the state can drop in their complaint to the Chief Minister with the aid of the Complaint Box and their complaints shall be addressed within 24 hrs.

I am not sure if Shankar (the director of the movie) came up with the idea at random or was it planned, but yes his prognosis turned out to be true after 8 years with minor changes.

Yes Today I saw a Complaint Box in my area , promising to listen to my concerns and help me to resolve it. But the icing on the cake is that it has been set up by an Opposition party as opposed to a Ruling party as picturised in the movie.

This particular Complaint Box has been launched by the PrajaRajyam Party cadre to understand the problems being faced by us and try to resolve these Issues once they come into power (not sure if this is another Election gimmick to woo the voters).

A typical Fimli Style remake of a Reel event to a Real Event, certainly the party cadre was trying its level best to blow the winds in their favor for the upcoming State Elections to be scheduled for May 2009.

Guess today was the first day of inauguration as I saw a lot of Obeisance being paid by Chiranjeevi’s Adulater’s as if this Box was his new movie cutout or a Wall paper. Coconuts, Garlands, Bananas as offerings to please their matinee idol.
